I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.

“I Was a Teenage Illiterate” by Cathleen Schine. This is a lovely little essay on the joys of discovering classic literary novels as an adult, an opportunity lost to those who read the books as children. It’s never too late to enjoy reading for pleasure.
